Self-performed on this job

White — proposed excavation
  • Site earthwork
  • Offsite roadway
  • Paving

Everything above was built by our own crews and equipment. When the ground turned up something the drawings did not show, the superintendent redirected them that morning.

What was hard

The anchor's opening date was public before the slab was poured, and the intersection improvement the center depended on sat with the state highway district.

What we did

We built the anchor and the offsite roadway as two independent critical paths with our own crews on the roadway package, so a delay in the state's review could not stop the building.

What it produced

The anchor opened on the advertised date. The signal went live three weeks later without affecting occupancy.
