Everything above was built by our own crews and equipment. When the ground turned up something the drawings did not show, the superintendent redirected them that morning.
What was hard
The corridor had to stay open in both directions throughout, and the water main being replaced served every property along it.
What we did
Entirely self-performed, which meant the earthwork, the utility crew, and the paving crew answered to the same superintendent and could be resequenced the same day when a service connection turned up where the records said there was nothing.
What it produced
The corridor stayed open in both directions for the full duration, with no unplanned service interruptions.
